Rent-a-Girlfriend: Heroine All Stars is a puzzle game based on the popular manga Kanojo, Okarishimasu (Kanokari), created by Reiji Miyajima in 2017. Now, the official Rent-A-Girlfriend game expands to the world of interactive entertainment after its successful anime adaptation.
Rent-a-Girlfriend: Heroine All Stars is divided into two distinct parts: narrative scenes from the visual novel and match-3 puzzles. In the first part, the controls are similar to other visual novels where you answer questions while talking to well-known characters such as Chizuru Mizuhara, Mami Nanami, Ruka Sarashina, Sumi Sakurasawa, and many more. Basically, you'll need to advance the story while also solving puzzles in the second part.
Unlike other popular match-3 games, in this adaptation, you don't have to match three or more gems like usual. Instead, you have to create paths of pieces with the same color to remove them from the screen, causing nearby gems to expand, which they can do twice before exploding and showering you with points. This seemingly simple gameplay quickly becomes more complicated as you beat levels in this anime-inspired puzzle game.
Rent-a-Girlfriend: Heroine All Stars follows the original story as published by Weekly Shonen Magazine. You play Kazuya Kinoshita in his freshman year of school after a tough breakup. Desperate, he starts using a dating service called Rent-a-Girlfriend, where he meets Chizuru, and the rest of this crazy adventure unfolds from there.
If you're a fan of Kanokari manga or anime, Rent-a-Girlfriend: Heroine All Stars is a fun way to experience the original story again. This game mixes puzzles with a visual novel, resulting in some pretty high-quality entertainment, especially given that it has the anime's seiyu. It also includes events where you can meet other anime characters like Fairy Tail, The Seven Deadly Sins, Fire Force, and Domestic Girlfriend.
